Established in September 1981, Kendriya Vidyalaya INS Chilka stands as an educational sanctuary nestled in the lap of nature. It is a proud part of the prestigious Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, set up to serve the children of Central Government employees, particularly those in defense and paramilitary forces. Under the guidance of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, the school has become a symbol of academic excellence, catering to more than 850 students.

Situated on the banks of Chilka Lake, the school lies 105 kilometers south of Bhubaneswar, along National Highway 5 and the Howrah-Chennai railway line. Offering classes from I to XII with Science and Commerce streams at the senior secondary level, the institution is equipped with modern laboratories, a library, and sports facilities. Here, students are prepared not just for examinations but for life.

The lush green campus, described as a “divine canvas” by Odia poet Radhanath Ray, nurtures not only academic growth but also the dreams of future naval officers.
